Waste previously destined for the landfill can fulfill a new purpose through Waste-to-Energy. Waste-to-Energy is the process of generating steam electricity from the combustion of non-hazardous waste. 

Waste-to-Energy Process 

1. Non-hazardous waste is burned 
2. The heat from the burning boils water to create steam 
3. The steam spins turbines 
4. Energy is created from the spinning turbines
